What outplacement actually costs, and what you get

Last updated 2026-08-15

Outplacement pricing is rarely published, which makes it hard to know whether a quote is reasonable. Industry pricing generally runs in three bands: a lower-cost, fully virtual tier (roughly $1,000–$3,000 per person), a mid-level tier commonly associated with larger established providers (roughly $3,500–$7,000 per person), and an executive tier (roughly $8,000–$15,000 or more per person, typically over a 6–12 month term). These are directional industry figures, not a specific vendor's current quote — always ask any vendor, including us, for their actual current pricing.

The bigger question isn't just the number — it's what that number buys. A lower price with a large caseload and a templated curriculum isn't automatically a better deal than a higher price with a lower participant-to-coach ratio and real reporting. Before comparing prices, it's worth deciding what you actually need: coaching depth, reporting latency, what the participant keeps afterward, and how the price scales with volume.

NextChapter publishes list pricing in full, with volume discounts disclosed up front (25+ seats −10%, 100+ seats −18%, 250+ seats −25%) — see the calculator below, which reads live from our actual pricing, or the full breakdown at /pricing.
