Sr. Nuclear Engineer

Our client is looking to hire an experienced Senior Nuclear Engineer / Health Physicist to support the development of next-generation radiopharmaceutical manufacturing technologies. This role will serve as the primary radiation engineering resource on multidisciplinary project teams, supporting facility design, R&D, commissioning, manufacturing, and regulatory activities.

What you'll do:

Perform radiation shielding analyses, dose assessments, and source term calculations.

Develop and interpret Monte Carlo radiation transport models using MCNP or equivalent software.

Support facility and equipment design for hot cells, process equipment, and radiological systems.

Provide radiation engineering support for commissioning, qualification, and manufacturing readiness.

Develop engineering calculations, technical reports, design specifications, and engineering standards.

Evaluate radiation detection systems, including HPGe spectroscopy applications.

Participate in engineering design reviews, hazard analyses, and project risk assessments.

Support regulatory submissions and provide technical expertise during inspections.

Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, Process Development, and Regulatory Affairs.

What you’ll need:

M.S. or Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, Nuclear Physics, Medical Physics, or a related discipline.

5+ years of experience in radiation engineering, shielding design, or nuclear engineering.

Demonstrated proficiency using MCNP or equivalent Monte Carlo radiation transport software, including model development and interpretation of results.

Experience with shielding analyses, source term development, and radiation dose calculations.

Excellent analytical, technical writing, and communication skills.

Would be great if you had experience with:

Radiopharmaceutical manufacturing or isotope production.

Cyclotron facilities.

HPGe gamma spectroscopy.

cGMP manufacturing environments.

NRC or Agreement State licensed facilities.

MicroShield, SCALE, PHITS, FLUKA, Geant4, MAVRIC, or similar modeling software.
