Homer, New York, The Homer Central School District Board of Education is inviting applications for their position of Superintendent of Schools. Located in western Onondaga County, the district serves approximately 1,850 students, supported by 350 staff members across four school buildings. The Board is seeking a visionary and collaborative leader who can build on the district's strong foundation while guiding Homer Central into the future. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of effective educational practices, a commitment to student achievement and a passion for creating opportunities for all students to thrive. The Board of Education is looking for a superintendent who is: A visible and approachable individual with the ability to lead, motivate and inspire; A effective communicator who listens to and respects the ideas of others, and can articulate the district's goals, successes, and challenges; An individual of the highest integrity, with high ethical and moral standards; An experienced leader who can demonstrate fiscal responsibility; and A lifelong learner who instills a love for learning in all. Experience as a superintendent or in a central office position is strongly preferred. Residency in the district is encouraged but not required. This is a fully-confidential search.
