The Pleasant Hill R-III Board of Education is seeking candidates for the position of Superintendent. The Board authorized a transition plan to replace the current superintendent at the end of the 2026-2027 school year. The new superintendent will begin on July 1, 2027 and take the leadership role in community relations, goal setting, facility planning, curriculum development, and personnel.

A complete file will include:

Completed application form - available via the Pleasant Hill R-III District website

Letter of application (directed to the Pleasant Hill R-III Board of Education). Include reasons for interest in the position and a description of significant accomplishments of the past few years

Current resume (include name, title, address and phone numbers of three persons who will serve as references).

Three letters of reference

Copies of college/university transcripts or current placement files

Evidence of Missouri Superintendent's Certification or eligibility thereof

Any other supporting documents that would enhance the application file

Requires candidate to live within 25 miles of the Pleasant Hill R-3 district.

Position Information:

Superintendent or Central Office experience preferred

Superintendent's Certificate required

Doctorate required

Ten years experience in education with at least 3 years in educational administration

Salary range: $150,000 - $170,000 depending on experience and education

Initial contract: Multiple year, 2 years considered

The Board of Education has set the following guideline dates:

Application Due: November 9, 2026

Screening begins: Mid-November, 2026

Anticipated Hire Date: Dec. 15, 2026

Contract to Begin: July 1, 2027
