Assistant Airport Manager

Nantucket, Massachusetts, Nantucket Memorial Airport (ACK) is seeking a dynamic, dedicated Assistant Airport Manager to serve as the primary operational deputy. Positioned in a fast-paced island aviation environment, this leadership role balances active airfield operations, seasonal demand peaks, and long-term facility management. The position provides direct managerial oversight across Airport Operations, Airfield Maintenance, and Fixed Base Operations (FBO), ensuring facilities remain safe, efficient, and fully compliant.

Bachelor’s degree in aviation management or related field or equivalent work experience. 10 years of airport-related experience with an increasing level of responsibility preferred.

This is a full-time, non-union position with a full range of Town of Nantucket benefits.

The salary range: $110,000-$130,000 depending on experience and qualifications. Application Deadline: Open until filled.

Experience with State and Federal aviation rules and regulations. Experience strategically coordinating significant planning, construction, or environmental activity. Experience working with and interpreting FAA Advisory Circulars, Orders, and other Airport directives. Excellent Communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical information to audiences not well versed in airport planning, construction, environmental, or noise issues. Pilot (part 90 or 107 license desirable). Special Requirements: Required to obtain Airport Certified Employee – Operations and AAAE Certified Member within two years of hire. Applicants qualifying for employment with Nantucket Memorial Airport will be subject to extensive security screening to include, but not limited to, fingerprint checks, employment verification, and other such procedures as may be mandated by federal law. The security clearance required by the federal law is a continuing condition of employment. Valid MA Driver’s License. Salary dependent on experience and qualifications.
