A NauWork client is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team in Hood River, Oregon .

The Quality Engineer will help ensure that products and services meet customer, regulatory, and internal requirements. This role will design, monitor, and improve quality processes spanning design, product realization, and final customer delivery. Working closely with production teams, suppliers, and other internal stakeholders, the engineer will address quality issues, lead root cause investigations, and support corrective and preventive action. This is an opportunity to shape quality practices throughout the product lifecycle in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement quality plans for products and parts.
Work closely with production to identify quality issues and implement actions to correct and/or prevent defects.
Perform inspections and audits to ensure that products and services meet applicable customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Provide training and guidance to employees on quality plans and processes.
Investigate customer complaints and work with internal teams and suppliers as necessary to implement appropriate corrective actions.
Lead investigations into quality issues and deviations, utilizing root cause analysis techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone) to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Participate in developing and implementing new products to ensure that quality plans are developed and implemented at appropriate stages of the product lifecycle.
Ensure that supplier products and services meet all applicable requirements.
Maintain records of quality assurance and control activities and provide reports to management as requested.
Support the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of the Engineering Management System.
Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
3+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Travel to locations as needed, not intended to exceed 10% on average.
Experience with quality systems in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methods.
Experience in attaining and maintaining ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality certifications.
Preferred Experience:
CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) from an accredited certification program.
ISO 9001 Certified Lead Auditor, nice to have
