About the job

Sr. Accountant

NakedMD | Costa Mesa, CA | Full time

The role

NakedMD is the fastest growing med spa brand in the country, with over 50 locations and new studios opening every month. As we scale, we need a strong accounting professional who can keep our books accurate, audit ready and built for growth. The Sr. Accountant owns core accounting and technical reporting for our multi-unit, cash pay healthcare business. This person runs key parts of the monthly close, writes the technical memos behind our accounting positions, and supports lender and sponsor reporting. It is a hands on role that works closely with finance leadership and our external auditors.

What you will do

• Own key parts of the monthly close, including studio level P&Ls, reconciliations and account analysis across 50+ locations

• Research technical accounting matters and write clear memos supporting our positions

• Account for vendor and manufacturer programs, including volume rebates, growth incentives and marketing funds, and allocate rebates between inventory and COGS

• Manage revenue accounting for memberships, prepaid packages, gift cards, breakage, loyalty programs and refunds

• Maintain lease accounting for a growing real estate portfolio, including TI allowances and pre-opening rent for new studios

• Support consolidation of affiliated medical practices under our MSO and friendly PC structure

• Prepare covenant compliance certificates and monthly sponsor and lender reporting packages

• Serve as a primary point of contact for the external audit

• Review work from offshore and remote team members, with clear instructions and a high bar for accuracy

• Strengthen close processes and controls as we open new studios each month

What you bring

• Active CPA license

• 5 to 8 years of experience, including 2 to 4 years in Big 4 or national firm audit, ideally at the senior or manager level

• Multi-site operating company experience, such as healthcare services roll ups (dental, vet, dermatology, physical therapy), fitness, restaurants or consumer services. You understand location level P&Ls, new unit openings and how transaction volume scales

• Technical accounting depth, with experience writing memos on:

o ASC 705-20 (vendor consideration): tiered volume rebates, growth incentives, marketing funds, upfront program payments, and allocating rebates between inventory and COGS

o ASC 606: memberships, prepaid packages, gift cards, breakage, manufacturer loyalty and rebate programs, refunds

o ASC 842: high volume real estate leases, TI allowances, pre-opening rent

o ASC 810: consolidation of affiliated medical practices (VIE analysis) under MSO and friendly PC structures

o ASC 718 (equity comp and profits interests), ASC 805 (business combinations), and debt and covenant accounting

• PE backed or lender reporting experience, including covenant compliance certificates and monthly sponsor packages

• Experience managing or reviewing work done by offshore or remote teams, or clear readiness to do so, including review discipline and clear instructions across time zones

• Strong systems skills: a modern cloud ERP (D365 preferred, or similar such as NetSuite or Sage Intacct), a close management tool, and advanced Excel

Bonus points

• Audit experience as the client

• SQL or BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau

• Experience in consumer healthcare, aesthetics, med spa, dental or another cash pay services business
