Staff Tax Accountant
Why This Opportunity Stands Out:
• Long-term ownership potential: Earn annual phantom equity that can potentially reduce a future ownership buy-in or provide value in a future transaction. • Greater flexibility: The Plymouth Meeting location offers increased work-from-home flexibility while keeping you connected to the team. • Direct leadership exposure: Learn alongside experienced tax professionals without layers of management between you and decision-makers. • Sophisticated client work: Gain experience with higher-value individual, partnership, corporate, and trust tax engagements. • Modern technology: Work with UltraTax, QuickBooks, and emerging AI-enabled accounting and tax tools. • No traditional public accounting metrics: No chargeable-hour or realization quotas. The focus is on quality work, accountability, and meeting deadlines.
Target Compensation: $70,000–$80,000+ depending on experience, with flexibility based on qualifications and the Philadelphia-area market.
Key Responsibilities for the Staff Tax Accountant:
• Prepare 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120-S tax returns. • Assist with workpapers, trial balances, and general accounting functions supporting tax preparation. • Develop toward increased preparation and review responsibilities. • Manage work around critical tax deadlines and ensure adequate time for review. • Utilize modern tax, accounting, and AI-enabled technology to improve efficiency.
Qualifications for the Staff Tax Accountant:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. • 0–3 years of accounting or tax experience. • New graduates with relevant internships are encouraged to apply. • Strong technology aptitude and interest in developing a long-term tax career.
