HOMES Medical Director

Location: Moody Outpatient Center 4th Floor

Primary Purpose

Responsible for the direction and coordination of assigned medical and clinical services of the HOMES program.

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS

Education:

Must have successfully completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Medical Association (AMA) approved residency for appropriate specialty.

Experience:

Must have five (5) years' experience as a physician in an academic or clinical setting.

Education and experience in the areas of medical management, utilization management and quality improvement/patient safety is preferred.

Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is preferred.

Certification/Registration/Licensure:

Must be currently licensed for the practice of medicine in the State of Texas.

Must meet and maintain licensing and registration requirements as delineated by the

Medical Staff Bylaws, Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, and Credentialing Policies/Procedures, if any.

Skills or Special Abilities:

Must have proven written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated leadership ability.

Must have proven capability to communicate and to develop positive productive working relationships with physician colleagues and management.

Must be recognized by peers as an outstanding clinician.

Must be capable of recruiting, developing and motivating people.

Must be objective, flexible, and tactful in dealing with sensitive medical staff issues, practice patterns, clinical resource utilization and sensitive patient issues.
