General Manager Opportunity

Full-Time | $90,000–$105,000+ Base Annually Plus Benefits and Bonus Opportunities

A globally inspired kitchen. A high-energy dining room. A leadership role with endless opportunities to make an impact.

On behalf of a critically acclaimed, independently owned waterfront restaurant in Boston’s Seaport, Gecko Hospitality is conducting a confidential search for an experienced hospitality professional to lead the Front of House team.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is an established General Manager seeking a new opportunity or a larger dining room, or an ambitious Assistant General Manager ready to take the next step. Someone who genuinely loves hospitality and leading a team. Someone equally comfortable running a bustling dining room, developing talented employees, reviewing the numbers, and finding smarter ways to get things done.

Above all, we’re looking for a leader. Someone with presence, energy, accountability, emotional intelligence, and exceptional communication skills. Someone who knows how to motivate, educate, and get the best out of a team while genuinely caring for the people who make it work, and who adapts their management style to the person and the situation.

We’re also looking for a detail-oriented, resourceful self-starter who takes ownership of challenges and knows how to figure things out independently, while keeping the right people informed along the way.

The Role

This hands-on leadership position carries significant responsibility for front-of-house operations, team development, guest experience, and overall restaurant performance. Working closely with operations leadership and ownership, you will help lead the team, maintain high standards, and drive continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Leading daily restaurant operations from the floor, ensuring guests have a great experience

Managing, mentoring, and developing the FOH management team

Overseeing scheduling, staffing levels, reservations, and service organization

Leading hiring, training, and employee development while building a strong team culture

Maintaining and improving service standards and training programs

Providing constructive feedback and addressing performance issues fairly and consistently

Partnering with culinary and beverage teams to ensure seamless service

Participating in financial reporting, inventory analysis, labor management, and budgeting

Overseeing facility standards and coordinating repairs and maintenance

Supporting special events and seasonal programming

What You’ll Bring:

5+ years of restaurant management experience, including senior leadership responsibilities, ideally in a high-volume, upscale full-service restaurant

A confident, energetic floor presence and genuine love for hospitality

Exceptional communication skills and the confidence to coach, inspire, and hold a team accountable

Experience with high-touch clientele

Strong leadership instincts and emotional intelligence

Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities

A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset

Solid understanding of restaurant financials, labor management, and operational performance

Strong computer skills; experience with Toast, OpenTable, and Adobe InDesign a plus

What’s Offered

Competitive annual base salary of $90,000–$105,000+, depending on experience

Performance-based bonus opportunities

Health, dental, and vision insurance benefits

Paid vacation and time off

Dining discounts across the restaurant group’s locations

Professional development and opportunities for continued growth

The chance to make a meaningful impact within an independently owned, chef-driven restaurant group

Schedule & Expectations

This is a full-time, year-round position requiring flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays. Closing the restaurant several nights per week is an essential part of the role, as is the flexibility to adjust schedules to meet the demands of the business.
