Revenue Accountant – Arlington, VA

Beacon Hill is seeking a Revenue Accountant to join a growing accounting team. This position will be responsible for supporting the revenue accounting process, including revenue recognition, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with revenue-related accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and support revenue recognition and related accounting activities

Prepare revenue-related journal entries and account reconciliations

Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close

Reconcile revenue accounts and investigate discrepancies

Review contracts, billing activity, and supporting documentation for accurate revenue recognition

Maintain revenue schedules and supporting documentation

Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis

Support internal and external audit requests

Partner with billing, finance, and other accounting teams to ensure accurate reporting

Identify opportunities to improve revenue accounting processes and controls

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

5+ years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to revenue accounting

Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles, including ASC 606

Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations

Strong Excel skills

Experience with ERP/accounting systems

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams

Preferred Experience:

Direct revenue recognition or revenue accounting experience
