About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Payroll Tax Specialist to assist with a payroll tax cleanup project involving the review and amendment of historical payroll tax filings. The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll tax compliance, reconciliations, and payroll tax filings.

Responsibilities

Review historical payroll and tax records

Research payroll tax requirements and employee classifications

Prepare payroll tax corrections and supporting documentation

Reconcile payroll tax accounts and identify discrepancies

Assist with amended federal and state payroll tax filings

Respond to payroll tax notices and inquiries as needed

Document processes and maintain accurate records

Qualifications

3+ years of payroll experience with exposure to payroll taxes

Knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations

Experience with payroll tax reconciliations

Strong Excel and analytical skills

Experience with ADP, Paychex, UKG, Workday, or similar payroll systems

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred

Experience preparing amended payroll tax returns

Experience resolving payroll tax notices

CPP certification is a plus
