Responsibilities of the Project Accountant

Manage project billing, invoicing, and financial reconciliations across multiple construction projects.

Maintain project budgets, job costing, and monthly financial projections.

Coordinate billing approvals and documentation with Project Managers, subcontractors, and owners.

Review invoices, track project expenses, and support month-end reporting.

Assist with accounting process improvements and system initiatives.

Qualifications of the Project Accountant

2+ years of accounting experience; project or construction accounting preferred.

Strong Excel skills and ability to manage complex spreadsheets.

Familiarity with project billing, job costing, AIA billing, or construction accounting processes is a plus.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Experience with Sage, Procore, or similar systems is a plus.
