About the job

Nationwide, About us Pier Law is a boutique business immigration law firm that provides US and Canadian business immigration legal advice to clients of various sizes, levels of sophistication and in various industries. We assist our business and personal clients by mobilizing their business operations and families to gain access to US, Canada and international markets. We're looking for an experienced business immigration paralegal who will work with a great team, including other immigration technicians and paralegals, attorneys and ultimately with clients, and handling a varied mix of case types rather than one narrow piece of a high-volume process. What you'll do You'll manage US business immigration matters from intake through filing and approval, under attorney supervision. This includes preparing and assembling:

L-1A and L-1B intracompany transferee petitions, including new office and blanket L filings; TN applications for Canadian professionals, including port-of-entry and preflight packages; E-2 treaty investor and employee applications, including business plans and investment documentation; H-1B cap registrations, LCAs, petitions, extensions, and amendments; B-1 business visitor documentation and port-of-entry support letters; Supporting PERM labor certifications and I-140 petitions; Supporting Canadian immigration files as needed;

Day to day, you'll draft support letters, organizational charts, and evidence indexes; gather documents from clients and HR contacts; complete government forms; track deadlines and expirations; and keep clients informed about case status. You'll also help keep our case management system accurate and our templates current as rules change. What we're looking for

At least 2+ years of experience as a US immigration paralegal, ideally with substantial business immigration experience in L, TN, E-2, and H-1B matters; Strong writing skills, including the ability to draft persuasive support letters from client-provided facts; Honesty and integrity in your work: you raise problems early, own your mistakes, and handle confidential client information with discretion. You also collaborate well with colleagues and clients and enjoy being part of a small, close-knit team; Careful attention to detail and comfort managing many files and deadlines at once; Familiarity with USCIS, CBP, and Department of State filing processes, and with DOL's FLAG system; Experience with immigration case management software (e.g., Docketwise, INSZoom, LawLogix, or similar); Professional, responsive client communication; Availability for at least 3-4 hours during 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Mountain Time at minimum

Nice to have

PERM and I-140 experience; Experience with Canadian clients, port-of-entry adjudications, or preclearance; A paralegal certificate or degree; Experience at a boutique or corporate immigration practice where you handled files end to end;

What we offer

Fully remote work Competitive compensation, depending on experience Direct access to the supervising attorney and a collaborative, supportive working environment Variety in your caseload and genuine responsibility for your files
