Who we’re looking for:

ParentSquare is seeking a Senior Product Designer to own the end-to-end experience for a major area of our platform, used by families and educators in districts across the country. You'll take problems from discovery through shipped product, partnering with Product and Engineering as an equal voice in what gets built. You'll work closely with our new UX Research and Design Systems practices, use AI tools to explore and prototype faster, and help raise the craft bar by mentoring other designers. This is a new role on a cross-functional product team.

Most importantly, you’re someone who shares in our passion for improving the lives of students through communication.

Reports to: Vice President, Product Design

This role will include:

Owning end-to-end design for a product area, from problem framing and discovery through shipped experience

Defining the problem before exploring solutions, and pushing back when a request is a solution looking for a problem

Turning complex workflows like district-wide messaging, forms, payments, and permissions into experiences that feel simple, even for users who scan, skip, and make mistakes

Partnering with UX Research, Customer Success, and Support to understand real usage, run usability tests, and make decisions from what you learn

Designing accessible, translation-ready experiences for families across languages (including right-to-left), abilities, devices, and comfort with technology

Building on and contributing to the design system, delivering production-ready work that covers states, edge cases, and responsive and native behavior

Using AI tools to prototype faster, and designing AI-powered features that users can understand, review, control, and correct

Presenting and defending design decisions in Design Crit and with stakeholders, then partnering with engineers through implementation and review

Mentoring other designers and helping raise the craft bar across the team

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

5+ years of product design experience, with shipped work on complex web and native mobile (iOS and Android) products

A portfolio with 2 to 3 in-depth case studies showing how you framed the problem, made decisions, and measured results

Strong interaction design, information architecture, and visual design craft, with fluency in Figma, prototyping, and design systems

Experience running usability tests and using research and analytics to inform design

Hands-on experience using AI tools in your design workflow, such as Claude, Cursor, or Figma Make

Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA) and how to design for them

Clear communication and the ability to influence PMs, engineers, and leadership

Bonus points for:

Experience in EdTech, K–12, or products where the buyer and the end user are different people

Experience designing for multilingual or low-literacy users

Experience designing AI-powered features, including how users review, control, and correct AI output

Experience prototyping in code (React or HTML and CSS) with AI coding tools like Cursor or Claude Code

The perks of working for us are great!
