Role Overview
Seated is hiring a Director of Product to serve as our first dedicated Product leader, owning product strategy and execution across our consumer and restaurant businesses.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this person will play a key role in shaping Seated's product direction, identifying and validating new growth opportunities, and translating business priorities into products that create meaningful value for restaurants and consumers.
This is a highly hands-on role. You'll work directly with our SVP of Engineering and a lean engineering team to drive the full product lifecycle, from customer discovery and data analysis to requirements, prioritization, testing, and launch.
We're looking for someone who thrives in an environment without established product processes or a large team. You'll bring structure to how we make product decisions, build a focused roadmap, and help establish the foundation for a scalable Product function as Seated grows.
Responsibilities
Own product strategy, roadmap, and execution across Seated's consumer and restaurant products in partnership with the CEO and Engineering
Identify, evaluate, and validate new product opportunities that can drive Seated's next stage of growth
Lead product discovery, customer research, experimentation, and business-case development to inform product decisions
Explore opportunities across consumer marketplace expansion, restaurant software, AI, and adjacent products
Drive improvements to critical product infrastructure, including merchant identification and transaction recognition
Partner directly with the SVP of Engineering and engineering team to define requirements, evaluate technical tradeoffs, prioritize initiatives, and deliver high-quality products
Serve as the primary Product owner, driving initiatives from discovery and definition through development, launch, and iteration
Identify and execute product-led growth opportunities across acquisition, engagement, retention, and monetization
Establish lightweight product processes, including roadmap planning, requirements documentation, prioritization frameworks, and success metrics
Translate business objectives, customer insights, and data into clear product priorities and measurable outcomes
Develop a deep understanding of consumer behavior, restaurant operator needs, unit economics, and marketplace dynamics
Help shape the future Product function as Seated grows, including identifying opportunities to expand product and design capabilities
Requirements
7+ years of product management experience, with demonstrated ownership of products from discovery through launch and iteration
Experience building and shipping products in a startup or high-growth technology company
Strong consumer product instincts, ideally developed within a marketplace or consumer technology business
Track record of personally building and launching products, not simply overseeing product development
Experience identifying, evaluating, and validating zero-to-one product opportunities
Strong analytical ability and comfort using data, customer insights, and business metrics to make product decisions
Technical fluency and ability to work closely with Engineering on complex product, infrastructure, and platform challenges
Strong understanding of growth, acquisition, retention, monetization, and marketplace dynamics
Ability to independently drive product initiatives and make thoughtful tradeoffs with limited resources
Strong communication skills, high ownership, low ego, and sound product judgment
Preferred Experience
Experience as an early or first Product hire, establishing product processes and practices from scratch
Experience at a consumer marketplace such as food delivery, mobility, travel, local commerce, or another two-sided marketplace
Experience driving product-led growth initiatives
Experience spanning both consumer and B2B / merchant products
Experience in restaurant technology, hospitality, local commerce, or SMB software
Experience with fintech, payments, card-linked offers, transaction data, merchant identification, or related infrastructure
Experience building AI-enabled products
Experience working directly with founders or executive leadership to shape product direction
