About the job

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril's Maritime Division has assembled a diverse team of experts in software, robotics, artificial intelligence, sensor fusion, and data analysis to create software and hardware solutions that radically evolve the capabilities of our customers. We are fielding the next generation of autonomous systems to tackle the extremely challenging industry demands of maritime operations. Anduril has brought to market a unique, ultra-long-range, full-ocean-depth underwater vessel platform and a completely refreshed maritime vehicle and flexible manufacturing architecture that scales from "small" to "extra-large" vehicle sizes. Today, Anduril is executing on billion-dollar contracts while simultaneously performing Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) AUV operations.

We are continuing to expand our product portfolio, now moving into the surface maritime domain. Products like Dive-XL, Dive-LD, Copperhead, Seabed Sentry, and surface products in the pipeline will create a system-of-systems that enable a multitude of autonomous missions across all maritime domains. If you are passionate about solving problems that have real impact and working on systems that directly contribute to achieving national strategic priorities, we want you to join Anduril's Maritime Division and help us build the future of defense capability.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Maritime Enabling Technology (MET) team, based in Quincy, MA. MET serves the entire Maritime Division, developing shared technologies, common interfaces, and enabling capabilities across all product lines. In this role, you will be the primary MET Systems Engineering presence in Quincy, acting as the connective tissue between MET and co-located program teams across multiple business lines. The role blends systems engineering with technical program management: you will drive cross-system integration, manage stakeholder alignment and ensure that decisions on one product don't create downstream problems for another. This is a high-autonomy position that requires a proactive, independent operator with strong conviction and effective communication skills at every level.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Serve as the primary MET Systems Engineering point of contact in Quincy, engaging daily with co-located program teams across multiple Maritime business lines

Own cross-program systems integration and interface definition, ensuring that enabling technologies developed by MET are adopted smoothly across products

Drive stakeholder alignment across Designated Engineers, Chief Engineers, and program leads, translating program needs into MET development priorities and communicating MET capabilities and constraints back to programs

Identify and manage cross-system implications of technical decisions, ensuring that changes in one product area do not create integration risks or incompatibilities in others

Contribute to architecture, requirements definition, and verification strategy for shared subsystems, common interfaces (including Lattice integration), and enabling capabilities

Support the full product lifecycle - from design and rapid prototyping through integration, test, deployment, and sustainment of complex autonomous systems

Mentor engineers across teams, building systems engineering capacity and contributing to a culture of cross-functional collaboration within Maritime

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, related technical field or equivalent professional experience

7–12 years of professional engineering experience, with demonstrated depth in systems engineering, systems integration, or a closely related technical discipline

Proven ability to work across organizational and technical boundaries - you have been the person who connects teams, resolves interface conflicts, and drives alignment

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior technical leadership, program managers, and working-level engineers

Experience acting as a technical lead, program integrator, or TPM for multi-disciplinary engineering teams

High ownership and a bias toward action - comfortable operating with autonomy in a geographically distributed team, with limited day-to-day oversight

Capacity to think holistically across complex systems - understanding how subsystem-level decisions propagate through an integrated product architecture

Experience with requirements definition, interface specification, system verification, and integration planning for hardware-software systems

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with the design, integration, and operation of robotic and/or autonomous systems (maritime experience is a plus but not required)

Familiarity with defense acquisition, product delivery lifecycles, or working within a DoD customer environment

Experience with common middleware/integration frameworks for autonomous platforms

Background in one or more of: perception systems, navigation, autonomy software, sensor integration, communications systems, or power/energy systems for unmanned platforms

Experience within a rapid-iteration, hardware-software co-development environment
