Director, Reporting & Analytics Engineering
Location: Americas
Organization: Revenue Operations
About the role
Autodesk’s worldwide sales organization runs on data: what the forecast says, how the pipeline is moving, where the quarter will land, and how every team is performing against plan. Thousands of sellers and leaders depend on that information being accurate, timely and consistent.
You will build the engineering capability behind it.
As Director, Reporting & Analytics Engineering, you own the data layer underneath sales analytics and the reporting built on top of it, including a new executive dashboard for the Chief Revenue Officer. This is a newly created team. You will design it, hire it and lead it.
Responsibilities
Build and own the sales analytics data layer: the curated datasets, the definitions behind them, and the quality standards they meet
Establish point-in-time history, so any number in a leadership review can be reproduced exactly as it stood when it was published
Own the mapping between accounts, territories, sellers and the sales hierarchy, and its history over time
Deliver the executive dashboard for the Chief Revenue Officer end to end — specification, build and adoption
Deliver self-serve reporting for every sales leader and team
Automate the recurring forecast, quarterly business review and leadership review packages
Set and hold the engineering standard the team works to: version control, code review, testing, continuous integration and documentation
Hire, lead and develop a team spanning data engineering, analytics engineering, BI development and product management
Partner with the enterprise data platform, CRM and sales operations teams who own the systems this layer reads from, and with Sales Finance so reported numbers reconcile to the financial plan
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience
10+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering or business intelligence, including 4+ years leading and hiring technical teams
Experience owning a production analytics platform that a large commercial organization depended on — one that ran on a schedule rather than as a series of projects
Expert SQL and strong Python, with a modern data stack in production: cloud data warehouse, transformation framework, orchestration and version control
Dimensional modelling, including point-in-time history and slowly changing dimensions
Working knowledge of the Salesforce data model and enterprise sales data
Ability to explain a technical decision to a senior business leader in their terms
Preferred qualifications
Enterprise software or SaaS commercial data: subscriptions, renewals, territories and mixed routes to market
Revenue intelligence platforms such as Clari, Gong, or Aviso
Snowflake, dbt and comparable tooling in production
Experience building a new team or capability rather than inheriting one
Data governance and stewardship in an audited environment
What success looks like in your first year
A dependable data layer in production, used by every analytics team it serves
Point-in-time history and the account-to-seller mapping live and relied upon
The executive dashboard adopted and used in the weekly leadership review
Recurring forecast and review packages delivered on schedule and reconciled to Finance
A team hired, developed, and working to a strong engineering standard
Before you decide not to apply
Research shows many strong candidates apply only when they match every line of a job description. If you meet most of what is above and the work sounds like yours, we would like to hear from you.
