Project Director

COMPANY

A leading retailer of automotive parts and services in the Eastern USA, the company is growing organically and through acquisitions. As such we are hiring for a variety of Merchandising roles to manage all aspects of category management, vendor management and product mix.

SUMMARY

The role of Product Director develops and implements a buying philosophy, pricing structure and marketing strategy. They are the lead driver with vendors developing and maintaining the organization’s relationship, and manage all aspects of their categories.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Participates in all team activities and decisions.

Selects quality vendors and negotiates programs.

Analyze market data and competitive industry activities to effectively put the right products in the right stores at the right prices.

Uses information from sales, gross profit and various ad hoc reports to make sure their assigned categories meet established performance targets.

Adds and deletes products in response to industry changes and customer demands.

Test new products and evaluate performance.

Troubleshoots supply chain issues and collaborate across the organization and vendor community to solve them.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

Five to seven years of experience, preferably in aftermarket automotive merchandising, product management or operations environment.

Strong financial acumen.

Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

History of collaborative vendor management and a successful track record of win/win negotiating.

Analytical skills with intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills.

Comfort with Microsoft Office Suite.

ON-SITE ROLE NEAR LEXINGTON, VA (relocation assistance is available)

BASE COMPENSATION (DOE): $85,000-115,000 (no bonus available)
