Senior Construction Accountant

Founded in 1972, they specialize in turnkey site preparation, mass grading, utility installation, paving, and infrastructure construction for commercial, industrial, data center, mining, and public-sector projects across the Mid-Atlantic.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Construction Accountant supports the Controller and CFO with the company's accounting operations, including month-end close, construction job-cost accounting, Work-in-Progress reporting, reconciliations, audit support, and internal controls. This position is part of an expanding accounting department where responsibilities may evolve as the company grows.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare month-end close entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation

Manage bank reconciliations, vendor setup, and internal accounting controls

Support construction job-cost accounting, WIP reporting, and contract setup

Maintain fixed-asset records and prepare audit-ready documentation

Coordinate with project management, accounts payable, and operations teams

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

5+ years of accounting experience including month-end close and reconciliations

Strong organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software

Construction accounting and/or job cost accounting experience preferred
