About the job
We’re partnering with one of the world’s leading alternative investment firms on a Senior Associate opportunity within its Private Equity Analytics team. This is a great fit for someone with a strong accounting or finance background who enjoys the technology side of their work and wants to move further into data analytics, automation, and AI.
The team works with complex private equity financial data to develop reporting, analytics, and tools used by Investor Relations, investment teams, and senior leadership. There is a strong emphasis on improving existing processes and building new solutions using Power BI, Python, AI-assisted coding, and other technologies.
Much of the group comes from backgrounds beginning in accounting/finance and they are looking for someone with a similar mindset: someone who understands financial information, is naturally curious about technology, and enjoys solving problems. Prior programming experience is not required. This is an opportunity to develop those skills while gaining broader exposure across a global private equity platform.
Key Responsibilities
Financial data and investor reporting: Prepare and deliver financial and operational data, analysis, and customized reporting to support investor requests, fundraising, and senior leadership.
Data analytics: Work with complex private equity financial data to develop reporting tools, dashboards, and analytical solutions.
Automation and process improvement: Identify manual or repetitive workflows and develop more efficient solutions using Excel, Power BI, Alteryx, Python, and other technologies.
AI and technology initiatives: Help develop new tools and applications, including leveraging AI-assisted coding and emerging technologies to improve reporting and analytics.
Data quality and infrastructure: Partner with technology and data governance teams to improve data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across the firm’s centralized data environment.
Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Investor Relations, Investment Professionals, Capital Markets, and Technology teams on reporting, analytics, and broader data initiatives.
Qualifications
Relevant experience in fund accounting, public accounting, audit, financial reporting, investment management, or a similar finance/accounting environment
Strong foundation in accounting and financial data, with an interest in transitioning toward analytics, automation, and technology
Exposure to private equity, alternative investments, or fund/partnership accounting preferred
Experience with SQL, Python, Power BI, DAX, Alteryx, or other data and reporting tools is a plus, but not required
Genuine curiosity about AI, emerging technology, and finding more efficient ways to work
Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CFA designation (or progress toward either) is a plus
