This position works directly with production teams to troubleshoot technical issues, implement process improvements, support testing, and successfully transition new designs into production.

The Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate closely with design, tooling, dynamics, thermal, test, electrical, and other engineering teams to improve safety, quality, manufacturability, capacity, cost, and production efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain a strong hands-on presence on the manufacturing floor, partnering directly with production teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes.

Provide technical support for the manufacture, assembly, and testing of complex heat exchangers, including sheet metal/foil fabrication, brazing, welding, assembly, and testing.

Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes using Lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, statistical methods, and other continuous improvement techniques.

Analyze production and test data to identify trends, resolve quality issues, reduce defects, and improve process capability.

Troubleshoot new and existing product issues involving designs, materials, tooling, equipment, or manufacturing processes.

Design, install, validate, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes.

Identify and implement opportunities to improve quality, increase capacity, simplify processes, and reduce manufacturing costs.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Strong hands-on manufacturing and mechanical aptitude with the ability and willingness to work directly with production equipment, tooling, parts, and processes.

Strong technical and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and equipment layouts.

Demonstrated troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.

Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

Ability to work effectively with production employees, technicians, engineers, and cross-functional teams.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

3–5 years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience.

4+ years of experience in hardware development, test laboratory, aerospace/space maintenance, manufacturing, or another hands-on engineering environment.

Hands-on experience with foil and/or sheet metal fabrication, welding, brazing, or pressure-containing products strongly preferred.

Experience supporting manufacturing equipment, tooling, assembly processes, testing, and production troubleshooting.

Experience in a highly regulated industry such as aerospace, defense/military, medical device, nuclear, automotive, or a comparable manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools appropriately to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and cost efficiency, including identifying appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluating AI-generated outputs.
