About the job
We're building a sales team that wins, and we're looking for the leaders who'll make it happen.
As Director Sales at Lio, you're a true player-coach. You build, coach and lead a team of 6–8 Account Executives, and when a big deal is on the line, you're right there in the room helping close it. You don't chase a quota of your own. You own your team's number, and the goal is ambitious: hit the target together, then double it.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead your team to its number. You help your team hit its target and build the pipeline and habits that let it grow from there.
- Be there when deals need you. You join calls, visit customers on site and help close seven-figure opportunities. When the usual playbook isn't enough, you get creative.
- Know what's real in your forecast. You're curious about every deal and look into it yourself, so you and your team always know where you stand.
- Take ownership. If a deal stalls, you reach out to the champion yourself. If it needs a workshop, you're happy to run it. You do what the deal needs.
- Help your reps grow. You make coaching, training and deal reviews part of the team's week, and nothing motivates you more than seeing your AEs succeed.
- Bring our way of selling to life. You know the product well and sell in an inquisitive, consultative and educative way, so your team learns it from you.
WHO YOU ARE
- You've carried a quota, closed complex B2B or enterprise deals, and still enjoy selling.
- You've led a sales team, had a first management experience, or feel ready to take that step. Many of our future managers start as AEs at Lio, get to know how we sell, and then grow into leadership.
- You're entrepreneurial and find creative ways to reach a goal.
- You like to check things for yourself and ask good questions, including of your own team.
- You love learning and are excited to adapt to how we sell rather than bringing a ready-made playbook.
- Building a team excites you more than your own quota.
THIS MIGHT NOT BE THE RIGHT FIT IF…
- you'd prefer to focus purely on people management and step away from deals.
- you'd rather stick to one proven playbook than adapt it.
- you'd rather keep your own quota than build a team.
- you prefer to rely on your team's forecast without digging into it.
WHY NOW
Our Go-To-Market team will grow significantly over the next year. You'd join early enough to shape how we lead sales, at a point where you can already see it working. Together with our sales leadership, you'll build your team and help define what great sales management looks like at Lio.
If you're hungry to build a team that outperforms every target, to turn good reps into great ones, and to win the biggest deals together, we want to hear from you.
