About The Role:
Stackline is looking for an Accounting Manager to own the month-end close, financial statements, and to be a trusted, visible partner to our auditors, employees, and the finance team. This is a hands-on technical role and a relationship role in equal measure.
This is a hybrid role (4 days/week in office) at our Seattle office.
What You Will Do:
Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including timeline, task assignments, reviews, and sign-off, ensuring accuracy and consistency of reported results.
Research and document US GAAP technical memos, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting, and R&D capitalization, and explain conclusions clearly to non-accounting stakeholders.
Prepare year-end US GAAP financial statements and footnotes.
Coordinate audit requests with external auditors, and research and resolve audit issues raised.
Own the integrity of key accounting processes by understanding transaction flows and internal controls, and recommending efficiency improvements.
Lead accounting projects from scoping through implementation, including documentation and training.
Perform special projects assigned by the Finance lead.
Who We Are Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
5+ years of accounting and finance experience, preferably in a mix of professional services (public accounting) and high-growth companies.
CPA, highly preferred
Hands-on ASC 606 experience with subscription revenue; SaaS experience strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements.
Ability to define, implement, and manage the creation of new processes.
Ability to leverage technology to invent, improve, and scale.
Demonstrated experience as a primary point of contact for external auditors.
A track record of explaining technical accounting to non-finance audiences, in writing and in person.
Bonus Points If You Have:
MBA or other advanced business degree.
