About the job
About Us
Legora is redefining how legal work gets done. Not built for lawyers, built with them. We work alongside the world’s best legal teams, who expect excellence, precision, and speed, and we hold ourselves to the same bar.
Our AI-native workspace lets legal professionals move faster, think more clearly, and operate with sharper precision. By analysing thousands of documents in minutes and powering end-to-end workflows, we cut through complexity, teams can focus on what matters: judgment, strategy, and outcomes.
2,100+ customers across 80+ countries trust us, including Cleary Gottlieb, Goodwin, Linklaters, White & Case, Dentons, and Barclays. We’ve scaled to $200M+ in ARR , with teams across Europe, North America and APAC, and continue to expand through acquisitions including Qura, Walter AI, Graceview, Cadastral, and Wexler.
We partner with world-class performers: including Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees, Ludvig Åberg (and his caddie), and campaigns featuring Jude Law.
Joining Legora means three things.
We lean in: ownership over titles, outcomes over intentions.
We fight for excellence: high standards, direct, ego-free feedback.
We grow together: as a team and with our customers.
Mission before ego. Everyone contributes. No one coasts.
If you’re driven by impact, pace, and raising the bar. This is the place.
The Role
This role will shape how our People technology ecosystem connects, automates and evolves as Legora scales. You'll own the integration architecture that connects our core HRIS to our wider technology stack, while building the AI-native capabilities that make it easier for employees, managers and the People team to get things done.
You'll join at a pivotal moment as we build the foundations of our global People technology ecosystem, helping us make the right architectural decisions from day one. You will build the hard pieces yourself, and make HRIS data and workflows usable by agents, automations, and MCP servers, creating new ways of interacting with People technology.
This is a senior, hands-on individual contributor role for someone who combines deep integration engineering expertise with a passion for emerging technology. You'll work closely with People Technology, IT, Security and functional stakeholders who rely on People data, balancing speed and innovation with reliability, security and scalability.
What you'll own
People Integration Architecture & Strategy. Define and own the integration architecture across our People technology ecosystem, with the HRIS at its core. Establish scalable design patterns, technical standards and governance for how systems exchange data and trigger workflows. Make decisions on when to use HRIS-native capabilities, middleware, APIs or custom solutions, balancing speed, maintainability and long-term scalability.
AI & Intelligent Automation. Build the AI-native integration layer that enables employees, managers and the People team to interact with systems in new ways. Design and develop MCP servers, AI agents and intelligent workflows that securely access People data and execute actions across systems. Identify opportunities to eliminate manual work, enable self-service and bring People processes into the tools employees already use. Evaluate emerging AI capabilities and determine when to leverage existing platforms versus building custom solutions.
Security, Reliability & Governance. Establish the technical controls that make our integrations and AI capabilities secure, observable and dependable. Define standards for authentication, field-level permissions, monitoring, alerting, error handling, retries, testing and auditability. Own the ongoing integration lifecycle, including release testing, documentation, troubleshooting and continuous improvement. Partner with IT, Security and Legal to protect sensitive People data and ensure responsible AI use.
Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence. Act as the technical authority for People integrations and AI architecture. Translate complex business requirements into practical technical solutions, challenge design decisions and establish reusable patterns that accelerate delivery. Partner with engineers, analysts, implementation partners and vendors, reviewing technical designs, sharing expertise and raising engineering standards across the team. Anticipate future needs and ensure our architecture can evolve as Legora grows.
What you'll bring
10+ years of experience in enterprise integrations, software engineering or technology architecture, including significant hands-on experience designing and building integrations for enterprise HR systems.
Deep technical expertise in integrating major enterprise HRIS platforms, including complex employee data flows, security models, APIs and downstream system dependencies. Experience supporting a global HRIS implementation is highly desirable.
Strong experience with APIs, integration patterns and middleware or iPaaS platforms such as Workato, Boomi or MuleSoft. You understand when to use HRIS-native capabilities versus external integration platforms.
Strong command of REST, SOAP, OAuth 2.0, JSON, XML, XSLT, and webhooks
Experience with at least one scripting language (Python, JavaScript, or similar)
Demonstrated experience taking AI agents or LLM-powered integrations from experimentation into production, including designing secure tool access, managing permissions, implementing human-in-the-loop controls and measuring reliability and impact.
Strong understanding of enterprise security, data privacy and integration governance, including authentication, role-based access, monitoring, auditability and safe deployment practices.
Experience working within security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or SOX, with an understanding of audit requirements, data governance and the handling of sensitive employee information.
A strong product mindset and an understanding of how technology can simplify employee and manager experiences. You look beyond technical requirements to understand the problem being solved and the outcomes you're enabling.
The ability to influence technical direction without formal authority, communicate complex concepts clearly and work effectively across engineering, security and non-technical business teams.
A proactive, hands-on mindset. You're comfortable operating in ambiguity, experimenting with emerging technologies and taking ownership from architecture through to production with a bias to ship, test, and iterate.
Fluency in English, which is our working language.
Why this role
People technology is foundational to how Legora scales. We're building the infrastructure that will support thousands of employees across an increasingly complex global footprint, and this role will shape how that infrastructure works for years to come.
You'll have the opportunity to shape our integration architecture from the beginning of our HRIS implementation, while pioneering how AI agents, automation and connected systems transform the employee experience. This is an opportunity to combine deep technical engineering with genuine innovation: building a secure and scalable foundation while creating new ways for people to interact with technology. Your work will directly influence how Legora operates as we grow, enabling faster processe
