The successful candidate will work directly with customers, consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers, and internal teams and must command respect in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) site meetings.
You will work directly with our partners, vendors, architects, engineering firms, risk professionals, and global integrators for the benefit of the countries and companies that are adopting sovereign AI and commercial AI factories at scale enabled by our products and services. You must possess a deep understanding of how software interacts with high-performance DC powered, liquid cooled hardware at scale. You understand the nuances of powering and cooling state of the art equipment over years of continuous operation.
You will build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with customers and partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
Conduct international campus evaluations and develop practical cooling and MEP solution recommendations based on location, climate, elevation, humidity, and temperature cycles.
Design complete air- and liquid-cooling systems, including cooling loops, heat exchangers, CDUs, pumps, piping, manifolds, valves, controls, and other heat transfer and heat-rejection systems.
Develop skid-based and modular cooling solutions for rapid global deployment.
Produce detailed designs and documentation using Autodesk forma, AutoCAD, Revit, Solidworks, and other professional engineering tools.
Coordinate mechanical systems with electrical distribution (medium-voltage station level to rack), machine controls, related protocols, Building Management System (BMS) managing HVAC, lighting, security, and other building services, and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS) for microgrids, and cluster-level infrastructure reference designs.
Support construction professional in the field, analyze factory acceptance testing (FAT), analyze site acceptance testing (SAT), prepare commissioning, and technical audits.
Translate technical findings into clear risk, cost, schedule, and operational implications for capital-investor level stakeholders.
Establish repeatable engineering standards and digital design practices for global AI infrastructure designs for deployments.
Provide technical leadership and mentor other engineers and field teams.
Work safely on active construction sites, including use of required PPE.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline.
Strong practical experience in DC power systems, data center cooling, immersion and direct to chip liquid cooling, HVAC, hydronics, or comparable large-scale mechanical systems.
Proven experience taking mechanical systems from concept through construction and commissioning.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit (and other CAD/BIM tools).
Deep understanding of pumps, piping, heat exchangers, cooling equipment, controls, and hydraulic/thermal systems.
Ability to lead technical discussions and command credibility in ad-hoc MEP site meetings.
Comfortable working independently in the field and making sound engineering decisions.
Valid passport and ability to obtain international visas/work permissions without significant restrictions.
Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 40% of the time.
Ability to independently travel to and work on active construction sites and within data center environments understanding the industry norms and practices.
Experience leading the design, development, and execution of complex data center infrastructure, construction projects, and facility build-outs, with a strong understanding of mission-critical environments. Experience designing and delivering AI factories, GPU/accelerated-computing facilities, and high-density AI infrastructure is highly desirable.
Deep technical experience with liquid cooling systems, including system architecture, configurations, equipment selection, distribution, redundancy, and integration into campus level environments.
Hands-on experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (a.k.a. forma) designing and developing complex facilities, engineering layouts, and construction documentation highly desired. Demonstrated ability to translate high-level infrastructure requirements into detailed campus and facility designs.
