This leader is accountable for the overall performance of assigned practices, including access, patient experience, clinical operations, workforce, financial performance, and practice growth.

Working closely with pediatric physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing leaders, clinical teams, and system partners, the Director translates organizational strategy into efficient, innovative, and family-centered ambulatory care delivery. Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic and operational leadership for assigned pediatric specialty practices, ensuring strong performance across patient access, experience, workforce, quality, productivity, and financial outcomes.

Partner closely with pediatric physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to establish shared priorities and advance practice and organizational goals.

Develop and implement innovative operational strategies that improve access to specialty care, patient flow, care coordination, provider capacity, and the overall experience for children and families.

Own the day-to-day operational performance of assigned practices, including scheduling, registration, referrals and authorizations, patient communications, medical records, facilities, staffing, and other essential practice functions.

Establish and monitor standards for patient access, including appointment availability, telephone responsiveness, scheduling efficiency, and wait times, identifying opportunities to improve the patient and family journey.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, reduce barriers to care, and support timely access to pediatric specialty services.

Monitor financial and operational performance, including budgets, productivity, staffing, non-salary expenses, revenue cycle performance, and capital needs, and develop action plans to address opportunities and challenges.

Use operational and financial data to identify trends, inform decision-making, and develop strategies that improve practice performance and long-term sustainability.

Serve as a trusted operational advisor to physician leadership and collaborate on initiatives related to practice growth, provider capacity, access, workflow optimization, and care delivery.

Promote a culture of family-centered care that recognizes the unique needs of pediatric patients and their caregivers throughout the care journey.

Ensure appropriate policies, procedures, and operational controls are in place to support patient safety, regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, and effective practice operations.

Ensure assigned practices operate in alignment with Inova's mission, vision, values, strategic priorities, and applicable regulatory and professional standards.
