AI Engineer, Genomics and Foundation Models | Cambridge, MA (onsite four days a week) | $200,000 to $230,000 base + bonus + equity

Build the production ML systems behind a new approach to cancer care, which aims to detect cancer earlier, when it is most curable.

The Company A well-funded, early-stage AI healthcare company building personalised cancer surveillance. It combines genomic foundation models with EHR and multimodal patient data to predict risk and guide screening. The team, with backgrounds at leading AI labs and research universities, works across US and European hubs and plans to double in size.

The Role

Design, train and deploy models for cancer biomarker detection, risk stratification and longitudinal patient monitoring.

Develop reinforcement learning systems that recommend screening and survivorship actions.

Build scalable ML pipelines for ingestion, feature engineering, training and serving on AWS or GCP.

Train and fine-tune foundation models on genomic and EHR data, and take them into clinical workflows.

Partner with clinical and data teams on multimodal dataset curation and governance.

Build evaluation, A/B testing and monitoring frameworks to clinical-grade standards.

What We’re Looking For

3 to 6 years of hands-on experience building and deploying ML models in production.

Strong Python and PyTorch, JAX or TensorFlow, with hands-on model development and system building.

Experience with cloud GPU/TPU environments and Docker.

Solid software engineering fundamentals: testing, CI/CD, version control and code review.

Clear communication with clinical and non-technical stakeholders, and a BS, MS or PhD in CS, ML, Computational Biology or a related field.

Nice to have: genomics, imaging or EHR data experience (not required), 0-to-1 startup experience, and publications or open-source contributions.

What’s On Offer

$200,000 to $230,000 base, a 10 to 15% bonus and equity of up to c.0.2%.

Direct work with the Head of AI and leadership.

Onsite in Cambridge, MA four days a week, with relocation support potentially available.
