Lead Software Engineer, AI | Eagan, MN (hybrid); also Ann Arbor, MI, Toronto, ON or Frisco, TX | $180,000 to $200,000 base + 15% bonus
Set the technical direction for the AI agent platform behind an enterprise legal AI product used by professionals in highly regulated environments.
The Company A global professional information and technology company with proprietary legal content and an established enterprise customer base. It is investing heavily in agentic AI and AI-native engineering.
The Role
Set architecture across AI agent infrastructure, runtime and tooling.
Build and scale production agent systems on modern LLMs and agent frameworks.
Implement observability, tracing, evaluation pipelines and drift detection.
Modernise deployment with feature flagging, progressive rollouts and release automation.
Improve production reliability, incident response and operational readiness.
Lead architecture reviews and RFCs, and mentor senior engineers.
What We’re Looking For
8+ years of software engineering, with 5+ at senior or lead level.
Hands-on AI and LLM product development, including agent frameworks and orchestration.
Python, PostgreSQL, AWS and distributed systems architecture.
Production observability, incident ownership and progressive delivery practices.
Technical leadership and mentorship without day-to-day direction.
Nice to have: AWS Bedrock AgentCore, frontier model integration, eval frameworks, and legal, tax or regulated-domain experience.
What’s On Offer
$180,000 to $200,000 base plus 15% bonus (Canada: CAD $140,000 to $165,000). Equity: [TBC].
A small, senior, AI-native team that makes heavy use of agentic development tools.
Influence over how production AI agents are built and scaled across the organisation.
Hybrid working, with onsite days [TBC].
US citizens and green card holders only. Visa sponsorship is not available. Canadian candidates are considered for Toronto.
