Title Accounting Manager

Overview of Position Our billion dollar, public client in Coppell is looking for an Accounting Manager. This person will supervise the Occupancy General Ledger Accountants and the Accounts Payable team. They are responsible for month-end financial close procedures, review of monthly account reconciliations, as well as audit and project management. The position requires an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and works collaboratively across departments to properly assess appropriate accounting treatment. The position also assists the finance team with preparation of projections and other strategic projects as required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Ensures accurate and timely accounting for all occupancy costs

Evaluates all leases and potential leases in accordance with ASC 842

Reviews fixed asset journal entries and reconciliations

Ensures accurate and timely recognition of other revenue, cost of sales, and expenses as assigned

Ensures accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes

Ensures all financial reporting deadlines are met

Supervises Accounts Payable team and guides their work processes

Develops, implements and maintains systems, policies and procedures for Accounts Payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines

Works directly with external auditors to assist with the annual audit and quarterly reviews

Interacts and effectively communicates with various internal departments

Monitors the implementation and maintenance of SOX control procedures

Experience and Skills Required

BS or BA, concentration in Accounting required

CPA required

5-7 years accounting experience preferred

Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth area

Experience with Lucernex or other lease accounting software a plus

Experience with Sage a plus

Experience managing others including career development, directing and evaluating work

Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once
