Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring MTS Mask Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Verify mask designs against a host of leading edge physical and electrical checks and guidelines. Oversee mask designs for various complex macros and tiles to integrated at the SOC level. Utilize understanding of DRC/LVS debug, EM/IR and density concerns and contribute to all areas of design flow. Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance. Exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various company proprietary products.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.

Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

Position requires three (3) years of experience in each of the following:

IC Mask Layout Design;

Analog and RF/High-Speed design;

Cadence Design environment;

Virtuoso XL/EXL/MXL and Calibre verification tools;

Performing layout vs. schematic (LVS) and design rule checks (DRC);

Advanced layout techniques, including nodes (16nm and below);

Top level, block level floorplanning; and

Design Rules, minimization of parasitic effects, IR drop and Isolation techniques.
