About the job
RedCloud seeks a Physical Security Design Technical Project Manager to support immediate client operations.
Location: Remote, United States
Overview:
The Physical Security Design TPM serves as the bridge between security design engineering, project delivery, and client stakeholders. This role owns the end-to-end coordination of physical security design efforts, including scope definition, design reviews, documentation governance, schedule management, and issue resolution. While not a primary drafting role, the TPM provides technical direction and quality assurance over design artifacts produced by engineers and external partners.
This position is remote with occasional travel upon request.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead physical security design projects from concept through issued-for-construction (IFC) deliverables, ensuring alignment with client requirements, standards, and operational needs.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams for physical security design scope and decisions.
Manage design schedules, milestones, dependencies, and risks across multiple concurrent security projects.
Provide technical oversight and review of design deliverables, including drawings, specifications, narratives, OPRs, and bills of materials, to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with standards.
Coordinate and facilitate design reviews, stakeholder working sessions, and issue resolution meetings.
Translate client requirements into clear design direction for engineers, integrators, and drafting teams.
Ensure security system designs are scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective, incorporating lessons learned and best practices.
Collaborate closely with construction managers, system integrators, IT teams, and facilities stakeholders to support successful downstream implementation.
Track and manage design changes, RFIs, and design-related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Stay current on physical security technologies, low-voltage systems standards, and industry trends to inform design decisions and client recommendations.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in physical security system design for large facilities such as warehouses, data centers, or similar.
Proficiency in designing electronic access control systems, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
Strong understanding of security principles, risk management, and mitigation strategies.
Familiarity with large security systems commonly used by leading technology companies.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with keen attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Experience with AutoCAD design preferred.
Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams preferred.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
