About the job
Do you like solving data problems that have a real impact on how products get to store shelves? The Merchandising Presentation team in Amazon's World Wide Grocery organization is hiring a Program Manager to own the item data lifecycle behind our space planning and planogram (POG) production. The team is ramping up system integrations with internal partners, and this role is right in the middle of that work — helping build new capabilities that matter across the business. You will manage product and item data flowing into and out of our space planning tool, making sure it is accurate and reliable for every downstream consumer. You will also work with merchandising, tech, and vendor teams to set data standards, fix quality issues, and keep POG production on track as we grow.
Key job responsibilities - Own the item data program end to end — mapping, validating, and reconciling data across the systems that feed into and out of the space planning tool. - Work with merchant teams, Merchandising Presentation Planners, engineering, and vendors to nail down data requirements, collect feedback, and set integration standards. - Turn complex data flows into clear documentation, project charters, and status updates so stakeholders and leadership always know where things stand. - Find and roll out process improvements that help item data management scale across reset rounds and merchandising cycles, clearing blockers along the way. - Track project milestones, dependencies, and risks, and help cross-functional partners get aligned on what matters most.
A day in the life Most mornings you will check data quality dashboards and triage any discrepancies before they affect upcoming resets. Over the course of the month you will connect with merchant partners to understand changing product assortments, collect feedback from Merchandising Presentation Planners on data gaps, and coordinate with engineering on integration work. Some days are heads-down in the item library; others are spent in working sessions getting teams on the same page about priorities and timelines. Weekly team syncs round things out — a chance to share updates and spot new partnership opportunities.
About the team The Merchandising Presentation team makes sure every store planogram is built on accurate, complete item data so products land on shelves exactly as planned. We are investing in deeper system integrations that open up new capabilities across World Wide Grocery, and it is a great time to get involved. Our team runs on collaboration and genuine investment in each person's growth. You will have biweekly career-development conversations with your manager, weekly team syncs to explore cross-functional projects, and encouragement to build mentorship connections outside the immediate team so you stay plugged into the bigger picture at Amazon. - 2+ years of program or project management experience - 2+ years of industry work experience - 3+ years of advanced Microsoft Word and Excel experience - Knowledge of SQL - Experience working for Amazon or any Amazon subsidiary or affiliate - Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document - Experience using Microsoft Projects software - Experience working in an analytical environment with cross-functional teams - Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
