The ideal candidate will have strong industrial controls experience, including PLC programming and troubleshooting, DCS/SCADA systems, instrumentation, VFDs, and industrial electrical distribution.
What You’ll Do
• Program, troubleshoot, modify, and optimize PLC-based control systems, including Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and Siemens S7/TIA Portal. • Support and maintain DCS, SCADA and HMI systems used to control and monitor manufacturing processes. • Troubleshoot complex electrical, controls, instrumentation, and automation problems and perform root-cause analysis. • Support industrial instrumentation, control valves, process loops, interlocks, permissives, alarms, and sequence controls. • Configure and troubleshoot industrial networks and communications, including EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, OPC and related protocols. • Support PLC-to-PLC, PLC-to-DCS, remote I/O, gateways and third-party equipment integration. • Work with MCCs, VFDs, transformers, switchgear, substations and facility electrical distribution systems. • Support electrical safety and compliance requirements, including NEC, NFPA 70E and NFPA 70B. • Lead capital projects from initial concept and cost estimates through design, equipment selection, installation, commissioning and startup. • Develop and maintain P&IDs, electrical one-lines, schematics, control documentation and other engineering drawings. • Coordinate equipment vendors, contractors and outside technical resources. • Partner closely with Operations and Maintenance to improve equipment reliability, process performance and plant uptime.
What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. • 5–10+ years of industrial electrical, controls, automation, instrumentation or process-control experience. • Strong hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience. • Experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and/or Siemens S7/TIA Portal. • Experience with DCS, SCADA/HMI and industrial instrumentation. • Working knowledge of industrial electrical distribution, MCCs, VFDs, transformers and switchgear. • Ability to read and develop electrical schematics, one-line drawings and P&IDs. • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills. • Ability to work effectively with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, vendors and contractors. • AutoCAD experience preferred. • Experience with Yokogawa DCS, Mitsubishi PLCs, Aspen Historian, EasyPower, medium-voltage systems, protective relaying and arc-flash/short-circuit studies is a plus.
