Broadcast producing or live-reporting experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person with strong storytelling instincts and a commitment to local news. Some video editing will be required.

If you are ready for a hands-on role that combines producing, reporting and breaking news, we would like to hear from you.

Be able to multitask and manage time in order to put together an exciting and informative newscast

Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment

Strong leadership and communication skills

The ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts

Flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving abilities are a must

Proficient with non-linear editing (i.e. Avid) and newsroom systems, such as iNews

Skills and Experience:

Sharp news judgment and a strong understanding of what matters to local audiences

Strong writing and storytelling skills, including knowledge of AP style

Ability to tell impactful stories on deadline

Excellent shooting, editing and technical skills

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative newsroom

Ability to develop sources and enterprise stories beyond the daily news cycle

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a good driving record

Experience:

Must have at least some previous news producing experience or reporting at a commercial TV station, although the right entry-level candidate may be considered
