This role is responsible for coordinating cross-functional engineering efforts, supporting issue resolution, and helping ensure technical, cost, and schedule objectives are met. The Project Engineer will work closely with program leadership, customers, and functional teams to translate requirements into actionable plans, track progress, and support execution priorities throughout the product lifecycle.
Essential Functions:
Lead cross-functional technical execution for sustainment of fielded mission network and LOS communications systems.
Drive troubleshooting, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and repair-cycle recovery for issues impacting system readiness and mission availability.
Translate customer needs, field feedback, and operational issues into actionable technical plans, priorities, and engineering tasks.
Coordinate engineering, integration and test, logistics, manufacturing, supply chain, and program management activities required to sustain deployed system performance.
Support technical planning and execution of maintenance, modification, verification, regression test, and field support activities associated with fielded systems.
Manage technical risks, issues, action items, schedules, and sustainment metrics, and communicate status to internal leadership and customers.
Ensure engineering changes to fielded systems are properly evaluated, documented, implemented, and verified in accordance with established processes.
Serve as a primary technical interface to customers and internal stakeholders for sustainment execution, issue resolution, and technical performance discussions.
Ability to travel up to 15% based on business needs.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Demonstrated prior experience with mission networks, LOS communications systems, secure communications systems, or related networked mission capabilities.
Demonstrated prior experience in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, corrective action development, and technical issue resolution for operational or fielded systems.
Demonstrated prior experience leading cross-functional technical execution in a small-program environment or similarly complex mission-focused setting.
Demonstrated prior experience working directly with customers and internal stakeholders to communicate technical status, risks, issues, and recovery plans.
Demonstrated prior experience with configuration management, technical documentation, and verification of changes to fielded systems.
Experience with reliability engineering, failure trend analysis, and repair-cycle performance improvement for fielded communications systems.
Experience supporting engineering changes, obsolescence management, and modernization of deployed communications or network systems.
Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers, and government customers in support of mission communications sustainment.
Experience with technical planning, basis-of-estimate development, or proposal support for sustainment and upgrade efforts.
Relevant certifications such as Security+, CCNP, or other technical certifications applicable to secure communications and networking environments.
