About the job
Definium Therapeutics is a late-stage clinical biopharmaceutical company and our mission is to forge a new era of psychiatry by applying scientific rigor to psychedelics, with the goal of developing accessible treatments that unlock healing at scale.
Our lead product candidate, lysergide tartrate (our proprietary orally disintegrating tablet form of lysergide (LSD) D-tartrate), represents a highly differentiated, potential best-in-class opportunity for patients suffering from generalized anxiety, major depressive disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder. Our early stage pipeline includes DT402, the R-enantiomer of MDMA and is under development to target the core symptoms of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), specifically addressing social communication challenges.
Guided by the recognition that patients deserve more than better, Definium is relentlessly advancing a new generation of therapeutics intended to address the underlying causes of psychiatric and neurological disorders. By turning evidence into impact, Definium aims to change the trajectory of today’s mental health care crisis and enable a healthier future. Headquartered in New York, Definium Therapeutics trades on Nasdaq under the symbol DFTX.
Together we are moving psychiatry forward—beyond better, into a boundless future. Join us!
We are seeking a Director, Field Operations, to build and lead the operational capabilities that enable Definium’s first anticipated commercial launch. This hands-on leader will translate commercial strategy into reliable field processes, technology, governance, and execution across customer-facing commercial teams.
The role will own day-to-day field operations infrastructure—including territory and roster administration, targeting deployment, CRM business processes, field reporting, incentive compensation administration, and launch support—while partnering with Commercial Analytics on methodology and insights, Field Strategy on deployment design, and IT on enterprise technology architecture and implementation. The ideal candidate thrives in a lean, fast-moving biotech environment and can scale processes from pre-launch through commercialization.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the field operations roadmap, launch milestones, SOPs, governance, service levels, and escalation processes.
Coordinate onboarding, system access, equipment, training logistics, roster management, and operational support with HR, IT, Sales leadership, and vendors
Operationalize field force designs, territory alignments, HCP/HCO affiliations, account hierarchies, target lists, call plans, and launch-wave transitions
Serve as commercial business owner for Veeva Vault CRM field workflows, requirements, UAT, releases, adoption, and support in partnership with IT and Data Strategy
Ensure operational data integrity across accounts, affiliations, assignments, and field activity; implement automation and approved AI-enabled workflows to improve efficiency
Lead IC administration, eligibility, goal-setting operations, payout validation, dispute resolution, governance, documentation, and field communications
Partner with Commercial Analytics on targeting, segmentation, sizing inputs, KPI definitions, dashboards, performance reporting, and operating reviews
Partner with Sales, Market Access, Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Compliance, and Analytics to ensure coordinated execution, operational controls, IC plan approvals, and change management
Oversee field operations vendors, budgets, deliverables, and service quality while establishing standardized processes, documentation, business continuity plans, and scalable operations to support launch and future growth
Qualifications:
Minimum bachelor’s degree required, degree in business, life sciences, analytics, healthcare, or a related field preferred
Minimum 10 years of related work experience required
Progressive pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences experience in commercial operations, sales operations, or field force effectiveness
Pre-launch or launch execution experience, ideally in specialty or complex therapeutics
Hands-on experience with CRM operations (ie Veeva Vault CRM, Veeva data products, Salesforce, Power BI, Tableau) territory management, targeting deployment, call planning, incentive compensation, field reporting, and operational governance
Ability to translate strategy into executable processes, system requirements, controls, and measurable operating outcomes
Strong cross-functional leadership, vendor management, communication, analytical judgment, and project management skills
Working knowledge of pharmaceutical compliance and data privacy requirements affecting field operations
Experience with HCP/HCO account hierarchies, account-based field teams, reimbursement support models and specialty pharmacy or hub related field interfaces preferred
Experience with incentive compensation governance, alignment platforms, field deployment waves, automation, or approved AI use cases preferred
Up to 10% travel will be required based up business needs
