About the job
A major national news and media organization is looking for a freelance Presentation Designer to start immediately. You'll work in Keynote inside an established template system, plus produce collateral for the event itself. A creative agency handles the motion and production side; your lane is the decks and the printed and digital pieces around them.
This is not a job for someone who wants to redesign the system. The templates exist, the house style is quiet, and content comes first. What they need is someone with a strong enough eye to execute at a high level of finish and enough judgment to do it independently — the Creative Director should not have to review every asset. Poise matters here: deadlines move, executives weigh in late, and the person who does well stays calm and keeps the work moving.
You Will:
Design two large executive presentations in Keynote, working inside existing templates and brand standards
Produce event collateral supporting the same body of work
Coordinate with the creative agency responsible for the event's motion and production work
Operate independently — make the call, finish the asset, move on
Possibly contribute to additional projects involving the company's intranet, working alongside developers, with some Figma work
You Have:
Deep presentation design experience and real fluency in Keynote
Executive presence — you're comfortable working with senior leadership and holding your own in the room
A restrained, content-first sensibility; you make the message land rather than making the design loud
Poise and calm under deadline pressure, and the judgment to know when an asset is done
Sharp thinking and the self-sufficiency to execute without hand-holding
Working knowledge of Figma
Nice to have: illustration ability
Logistics:
Projected Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6 months
Hours/Week: 40 hours
Onsite/Offsite: Hybrid 3 days in office
Team Structure: Reports to the Creative Director, Communications and Brand Experience
