About the job
Bring your bulk material handling expertise to a hands-on, high-ownership role based in Charlotte, NC where you’ll lead complex projects from concept to completion and help drive engineering execution on the shop floor. This Project Manager / Mechanical Engineering Manager opportunity combines customer-facing project leadership with mechanical engineering management and R&D support in a growing, mission-driven manufacturing environment.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Project Manager / Mechanical Engineering Manager position include:
5+ years of experience in bulk material handling.
Manage multiple concurrent projects, balancing big-picture scope and schedule with hands-on technical and operational detail.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and suppliers, communicating regularly and proactively with minimal day-to-day oversight.
Own project timelines, budgets, and deliverables; escalate risks and resolve issues before they impact schedule or cost.
Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, shop, and sales teams to keep projects moving from quote to delivery.
Oversee and mentor at least one mechanical drafter (3D CAD), with the expectation that the team will grow and you will scale engineering support.
Assign work and hold team members accountable for deadlines and accuracy of deliverables.
Oversee shop assembly of equipment and systems, providing hands-on support and troubleshooting as needed.
Salary: $100K–$140K+ per year, commensurate with experience.
