About the job

T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our mission is to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. By the time you finish reading this paragraph, we will have produced two solar panels that will power American homes and fuel domestic AI. We're focused on building advanced American manufacturing and we're passionate about engineering a better future filled with abundant energy.

The Role

T1 Energy is looking to hire a Senior Procurement Buyer to own global solar cell and module supply chain relationships, contract strategy, and high-stakes risk mitigation. This is a senior, commercially autonomous role for someone who has managed multi-million dollar procurement portfolios and knows how to structure agreements that protect against volatile trade laws, shifting technology, and real geopolitical risk.

You’ll manage portfolios ranging from $20M to $100M+, negotiate directly with international Tier-1 suppliers, and build the supply chain architecture that keeps T1 resilient in one of the most complex and fast-moving trade environments in the world. If you know the solar supply chain cold and you’ve got the negotiation track record to back it up, this is the role for you.

What You’ll Do

- Spearhead high-volume RFQ processes, negotiate Master Supply and Service Agreements (MSAs), and lock in pricing, liquidated damages, and warranty provisions.

- Formulate supply chain architectures that minimize exposure to Section 232 tariff frameworks, AD/CVD duties, and customs holdups under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA).

- Construct comprehensive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models tracking polysillicon pricing trends, manufacturing localization shifts, and macro freight indicators.

- Apply deep understanding of the TOPCon solar module supply chain to inform sourcing strategy and risk management.

- Collaborate across engineering, legal, project finance, and EPC project managers to align complex production pipelines with physical field schedules.

Who You Are

- A seasoned procurement professional with deep command of global solar supply chains and the commercial autonomy to own high-value portfolios end to end.

- A skilled, confident negotiator who has drafted and finalized multi-million dollar agreements with international Tier-1 companies.

- Analytically rigorous, with genuine expertise in TCO modeling, MRP logic, and strategic data modeling.

- Fluent in the regulatory landscape: trade law, tariffs, clean energy tax credits, and import/export compliance.

- A strong cross-functional partner who connects procurement strategy to engineering, legal, finance, and field execution.

- Calm and decisive under the pressure of volatile markets and shifting trade frameworks.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience in solar procurement.

- 5–8+ years of advanced utility-scale solar or large-scale industrial energy procurement experience handling high-capacity portfolios.

- Demonstrated history of successfully drafting and finalizing multi-million dollar agreements directly with international Tier-1 companies.

- Deep, fluent understanding of global solar supply chains, U.S. clean energy tax credits, and active import/export regulations.

- Mastery of enterprise ERP environments, advanced MRP logic, and strategic data-modeling practices.

- Mandarin fluency highly preferred.
