About the job
IT Network Manager
Lead Global Connectivity—and Protect the Plant Floor
Pittsburgh, PA | Global IT Operations | Domestic & International Travel
Our client is seeking an accomplished IT Network Manager who can lead a global enterprise network while bringing deep, practical expertise in industrial Operational Technology (OT). You’ll own the infrastructure connecting offices, cloud services, data centers, and manufacturing sites—and lead the critical work of securely separating enterprise IT from production networks without compromising uptime or safety.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
Own a complex, multi-site global network supporting around-the-clock manufacturing.
Shape IT/OT segmentation strategy using the Purdue Model, industrial DMZs, and recognized security frameworks.
Lead a technical team and collaborate directly with plant engineering, cybersecurity, and executive leadership.
What You’ll Do
Lead, mentor, and develop the network team; own priorities, network standards, budgets, and lifecycle planning.
Direct global WAN, LAN, WLAN, SD-WAN/SASE, firewalls, VPN/remote access, and unified communications platforms.
Design resilient, high-availability networks and drive incident response, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
Develop and implement Purdue Model-based IT/OT segmentation, industrial DMZs, and controlled communications between enterprise and plant networks.
Lead OT network assessments, asset inventories, plant segmentation roadmaps, and secure vendor remote-access practices.
Work with cybersecurity and plant teams on OT monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and recovery planning.
Oversee network infrastructure for site openings, acquisitions, and integrations; manage carriers and technology partners.
Coordinate plant-safe change windows and support audits, cyber insurance reviews, and security controls.
What You Bring
10+ years of enterprise network engineering/operations experience, including 5+ years in network leadership.
3–5 years of hands-on OT/industrial control system networking in manufacturing or industrial settings.
Demonstrated Purdue Model expertise (Levels 0–5), including IT/OT segmentation and Industrial DMZ design.
Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VLANs, switching, QoS, high availability, SD-WAN/SASE, and next-generation firewalls.
Familiarity with industrial protocols and assets such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, PROFINET, OPC UA, PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA.
Experience supporting global, multi-site networks and 24/7 manufacturing operations.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience; willingness to travel domestically and internationally and support occasional after-hours changes.
Extra Experience We’d Love to See
Fortinet FortiGate/SASE, Cisco/Meraki, Webex Calling, Microsoft Teams Voice, VPN/ZTNA, and network observability.
ISA/IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, OT discovery and monitoring platforms such as Claroty, Nozomi, Dragos, or Defender for IoT.
CCNP/CCIE, Fortinet, GICSP/GRID, CISSP, ISA/IEC 62443, or PMP credentials.
The Opportunity
If you understand that plant uptime and safety come first—and you know how to make enterprise networking and industrial cybersecurity work together—this is a chance to lead meaningful change on a global scale.
