About the job

At PrizePicks, we are the fastest-growing sports company in North America, as recognized by Inc. 5000. As the leading platform for Daily Fantasy Sports, we cover a diverse range of sports leagues, including the NFL, NBA, and Esports titles like League of Legends and Counter-Strike. Our team of over 550 employees thrives in an inclusive culture that values individuals from diverse backgrounds, regardless of their level of sports fandom. Ready to reimagine the DFS industry together?

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mixed Methods UX Researcher to join our team! You will lead end-to-end qualitative and quantitative research, balancing speed and rigor to advocate for our members. Partnering closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and data scientists, you will set research directions, elevate methodological standards, and mentor others. Ideal candidates comfortably scope and execute evaluative and generative research independently, blending behavioral data with user insights to drive product decisions.

What you’ll do:

Design and lead mixed methods research studies using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods including usability testing, in-depth interviews, diary studies, longitudinal research, surveys, behavioral and log data analysis, and A/B test analysis, choosing the right mix for each research question

Own the end-to-end research process within your domain, including prioritizing & scoping, recruiting participants, collecting data, synthesizing and analyzing data, and delivering findings

Design rigorous surveys and other quantitative instruments (including sampling, questionnaire design, and data quality checks) and apply appropriate statistical analysis to size behaviors, attitudes, and member segments at scale

Partner with analytics and data science teams to pair behavioral data with qualitative research, using the numbers to size and validate what you hear from members and using member stories to explain the why behind the numbers

Partner closely with cross-functional team members in identifying key research objectives and questions to address research needs across the product lifecycle, and use data to validate and iterate on designs

Translate research findings into actionable insights, and strategic narratives through compelling storytelling and creative artifacts, reports, and read-outs, connecting findings to product metrics and business impact and advocating for data-driven decision-making in product teams

Communicate research findings, insights, and recommendations clearly and effectively to key stakeholders, including senior leadership.

Mentor and coach junior and mid-level researchers, designers, and product partners on study design, methodology, and storytelling, and lead research debriefs and stakeholder alignment meetings

Help build and improve our research practice by contributing to standards, reusable research frameworks, templates, and repositories, and by introducing new methods and tools (including responsible use of AI in analysis and synthesis) that improve speed without giving up rigor

Champion accessibility and inclusive research that reflects the full range of our members

What you have:

5+ years of relevant experience in UX Research, Design Research, or Human Factors Engineering, including significant experience leading mixed methods work

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Psychology, Human Factors, HCI, Anthropology, Statistics, Data Science, Sociology, or related field (Master's or PhD preferred)

Deep expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research, including a track record of leading mixed methods studies and executing both evaluative and generative studies

Proven quantitative expertise—encompassing survey design, sampling strategies, behavioral and log data evaluation, and statistical techniques (such as segmentation, regression, and significance testing)—alongside proficiency in statistical software like R, SPSS, or similar analytical tools

Experience working with product analytics and experimentation data (e.g., Amplitude, A/B test results) and partnering with data science or analytics teams

A portfolio or case studies highlighting your end-to-end research process and the impact your work had on an organization, team, product, and/or feature, including at least one that shows how you combined qualitative and quantitative methods and why you chose them

Excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with and influence stakeholders, including senior leaders, and to translate research into business impact

Experience mentoring or coaching other researchers or cross-functional partners, and helping set research standards

Comfort with ambiguity and changing priorities: you stay calm and solution-oriented, adapt your methods when needed, and keep quality high

Self-awareness and drive: you seek feedback proactively, balance hands-on execution with strategic thinking, challenge domain assumptions, and drive the team toward shared solutions when opinions differ

Experience with remote testing and survey tools (e.g., dscout, UserTesting, UserZoom, Qualtrics, etc.)

A deep curiosity and passion for uncovering user needs, motivations, behaviors, and pain points

Bonus points for experience with advanced quantitative methods (e.g., conjoint analysis, clustering, causal inference), research on consumer, sports, or fantasy products, or building research operations

This is a hybrid position based at our PrizePicks headquarters in Atlanta, GA OR New York, NY. #LI-Hybrid

This application period will remain open for 30 days. We’re committed to finding the best candidate, so this date may be adjusted, and any changes will be reflected in this posting.
