About the job

Description

The Department of Computational Innovation (CI) at Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist to join the CI Inflammation team. In this role, the successful candidate will partner with CI Leads and cross-functional project teams to advance the Boerhinger’s Immunology & Respiratory (I&R) drug portfolio from Pre-Lead Optimization (Pre-LO) through Candidate Selection. The position will generate timely, decision-enabling computational evidence to strengthen understanding of disease biology, target rationale, novel therapeutic concepts (NTCs), mechanisms of action, and patient stratification strategies.

The successful candidate will work as a key contributor within interdisciplinary project teams, partnering closely with CI Leads to execute bioinformatics analyses, interpret results, and assemble fit-for-purpose evidence packages for I&R project milestones. The role will apply advanced omics, computational biology, and data-science approaches while supporting scientific integration and decision-making.

As an employee of Boehringer Ingelheim, you will actively contribute to the discovery, development and delivery of our products to our patients and customers. Our global presence provides opportunity for all employees to collaborate internationally, offering visibility and opportunity to directly contribute to the companies' success.
