This hands-on leadership role will oversee the close, financial statements, audit, compliance, cash management support, and accounting operations while partnering with executive leadership on growth and business decisions. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a roll-up-the-sleeves leader who can build, improve, and scale.

Shape the accounting function, improve systems, and build processes that support future growth.

Enjoy the autonomy to make decisions and implement practical improvements.

Join a stable, growing organization with strong leadership and a clear business strategy.

Work in a collaborative environment where finance is viewed as a business partner, not a back-office function.

Benefit from a culture that promotes accountability while supporting sustainable work-life balance.

Receive competitive executive compensation, bonus opportunity, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Controller Key Responsibilities

Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, close, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cash accounting.

Deliver timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Establish a disciplined close calendar, clear ownership, and effective review procedures.

Develop, maintain, and strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and financial documentation.

Lead annual audits, tax coordination, banking requests, insurance reporting, and other compliance activities.

Partner with FP&A and business leaders on budgets, forecasts, cash flow planning, and performance analysis.

Provide meaningful financial insights, explain results, and help leadership make informed decisions.

Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing accounting team.

Evaluate systems and workflows and lead automation, ERP, and process improvement initiatives.

Oversee accounting for complex transactions, contracts, revenue, leases, debt, equity, or acquisitions as applicable.

Ensure the accounting organization can scale with growth, new entities, acquisitions, or changing reporting needs.

Serve as a trusted partner to executive leadership, auditors, lenders, and other external stakeholders.

Controller Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; an Accounting degree is strongly preferred.

Eight or more years of progressive accounting experience, including at least three years in a leadership role.

Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls.

Demonstrated success leading and developing accounting teams.

Experience managing audits and partnering effectively with external auditors and tax advisors.

Strong business judgment with the ability to move between strategic issues and detailed accounting work.

Experience improving processes, implementing controls, and scaling accounting operations.

Advanced Excel skills and strong experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.

Salary up to $180K
