Electrical Designer – Hybrid

Location: Indianapolis, IN Work Arrangement: Hybrid – Regular In-Office Presence Required

Position Overview

We are partnering with an established, multidisciplinary architecture and engineering firm seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join its Indianapolis team. This opportunity is ideal for a design professional who enjoys taking ownership of projects, collaborating with architects and engineers, and contributing to a variety of building types.

Key Responsibilities

Design electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, institutional, and other building projects.

Develop electrical power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.

Independently prepare electrical drawings, calculations, specifications, and construction documents.

Utilize Revit to develop and coordinate electrical designs within multidisciplinary project models.

Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other design professionals to ensure coordinated building systems.

Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and coordination efforts.

Conduct site visits, field surveys, and construction-phase observations as needed.

Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and project requirements.

Support projects through various phases of design and construction.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in electrical systems design for buildings.

Demonstrated experience with power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and construction documentation.

Proficiency in Revit is required.

Ability to independently develop electrical drawings and perform electrical design calculations.

Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary architecture and engineering teams.

Experience with healthcare, institutional, or commercial projects is preferred.

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
