Position: Payroll Specialist

Compensation: $ 38 – 43 /hour, depending on experience

Location: Kansas City, Missouri

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Payroll Specialist to join their team!

You’ll have the chance to contribute across multiple payroll areas while helping keep operations running smoothly during a long-term transformation.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Process payroll across weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly cycles

Support multi-state payroll operations and compliance

Handle payroll tax, prevailing wage, and union-related issues

Assist with complex payroll questions and escalations

Serve as a flexible resource during implementation efforts

Guide and support payroll administrators and team members

Help maintain accuracy across high-volume payroll processes

Contribute to a collaborative review-focused team environment

Required Qualifications & Experience:

At least 5 years of payroll experience

Experience with high-volume, enterprise payroll environments

Knowledge of multi-state payroll processing

Experience with payroll tax and compliance matters

Experience with union payroll and prevailing wage requirements

Strong customer service and communication skills

Ability to adapt and support changing priorities

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

Experience supporting implementation projects

Familiarity with large payroll teams

Experience mentoring or guiding support staff

Comfort working in a collaborative, peer-review environment
