About the job
Ambrook helps American family-run businesses become more profitable and resilient. From volatile markets to climate shifts, independent operators face mounting pressure. While sustainable investments often yield the best long-term returns, they require financial clarity and capital that fragmented legacy systems can’t provide.
We are rebuilding the financial infrastructure that real economy operators rely on. By replacing paperwork with modern tools for accounting, banking, and spending, Ambrook gives owners the data they need to prove viability to lenders and the next generation. We empower the stewards of land and labor to make confident investments in their future.
We’re a Series B startup backed by Lachy Groom, Thrive Capital, Dylan Field, Thomson Reuters Ventures, Cameron Ventures, and leaders at Notion, Gusto, and Vercel. We’re looking for team members to help us untangle the intersection of American industry, climate, and the economy.
The opportunity Ambrook has grown from a farm-and-ranch accounting tool into an AI-native financial platform spanning accounting, banking, invoicing, and Full Service bookkeeping. Inside Sales Representatives are Ambrook’s voice on the phone. You’ll call owner-operators who came to us through our website, started signing up but didn’t finish, or fit the profile of businesses we serve, and you’ll help them choose the right plan and close them on the call.
While we value proven experience, we’re also looking for people who identify with the communities we serve. Maybe you’ve worked on a farm, in construction, in a trade, or in an industry that serves operators like these. Maybe you’ve just spent enough time around them to know what they need. Either way, this is your chance. This is a contract role.
Within 1 month you’ll…
- Become a master on the phones, working a high volume of inbound leads, unfinished sign-ups, and outbound calls, and guiding each owner to the plan that fits their needs.
- Run short discovery-and-close calls and close customers independently.
- Hit your daily activity targets for dials, conversations, and closes.
- Master your pipeline and the essential tools (HubSpot, Nooks, Slack, etc.) you’ll need to scale up.
Within 3 months you’ll…
- Consistently hit or exceed quota to help us hit ambitious growth targets.
- Answer common product and pricing questions on the fly, and know when to bring in a teammate.
- Qualify owner-operators quickly across our core verticals: ag, contractors, high-volume invoicers, and landlords.
- Know the market alternatives you’re selling against, and position Ambrook clearly against them.
- Share what you’re hearing on calls with the sales team so we can sharpen our pitch.
About you We love to see proven sales experience, but we’re open to a diversity of backgrounds:
- Direct operator experience. Farm, ranch, construction, or trade. If you can keep up with the daily grind out there, we know you can succeed here.
- Hospitality, retail, or door-to-door sales. You’ve handled high-volume, high-pressure environments with a customer-centric mindset.
- You’re comfortable on the phone most of the day, including cold calls, and you hear “no” often without losing energy.
- A thoughtful, compassionate, and empathetic approach to interacting with those around you and with the person on the other end of the line.
- An AI-forward systems thinker: You’re excited about leveraging (and learning) the new AI tools we have available to level-up our systems.
- Bonus: experience in inside sales, call-center sales, or outbound calling.
- Bonus: experience in an American real-economy industry like ag, trucking, construction, trades, or property management.
Is this role right for you? This role is a good fit if you want to be on the phone most of the day, you want pay that follows your results, and you’re comfortable working on a contract basis.
