How to get it right
- Wait for the written offer before you accept, and confirm pay, title, start date and benefits in it.
- Do not resign from your current job until the written offer is signed and any checks are complete.
- Ask when the paperwork and first-day details will arrive so the days before the start are not a guess.
- Tell other employers you are in process that you have accepted. Do it promptly and kindly.
