Harper’s BAZAAR is looking for a digitally native, fashion-obsessed Commerce Editor to create compelling shopping content across site, social, newsletters, and emerging platforms. This role is ideal for a strong writer and curator who understands the digital fashion landscape and knows how to turn cultural moments, emerging trends, and products audiences love into distinctive BAZAAR stories that inspire readers and drive engagement and revenue.
About Hearst Magazines (Why Us?)
We create media that moves minds, products and ideas. Our portfolio of 30 iconic brands — including Cosmopolitan, Delish, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, Men’s Health and Road & Track — reaches nearly 130 million people each month. Our teams combine trusted journalism and cultural storytelling with technology, data and commerce to create experiences that inform, inspire and entertain audiences across generations and around the globe. And together, we are shaping what’s next.
Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
Pitch and write up to five fashion commerce stories per week, balancing timely shopping news, trend coverage, sales, recurring franchises, and key cultural and retail moments.
Create highly considered product curations that feel distinctly BAZAAR and reflect the brand’s editorial point of view and audience.
Develop digital-first and social-first commerce content, including platform-native user-generated content and shopping-focused social storytelling.
Support market curations for Editor Shops and other digital commerce storefronts.
Monitor runway news, celebrity style, social conversations, emerging brands, viral products, and the broader shopping landscape to identify high-value story opportunities.
Identify, refresh, and optimize existing BAZAAR content for affiliate commerce opportunities while maintaining editorial quality.
Apply commerce, SEO, affiliate, and audience-development best practices to strengthen content performance and reach.
Monitor affiliate performance across stories, products, categories, and retailers and use insights to inform future coverage and strategy.
Support commerce promotion across the site, social platforms, and newsletters, including content production, links, visuals, and packaging.
Contribute commerce insights and performance reporting to presentations and team discussions as needed.
Support the Senior Commerce Content Lead in managing and editing freelance and central commerce-team contributions, ensuring content meets BAZAAR’s editorial, commerce, and brand standards.
Qualifications (What We’re Looking For)
4+ years of experience in fashion, commerce, editorial, digital media, or a related field.
Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a strong editorial voice and an eye for compelling fashion storytelling.
Deep knowledge of fashion, shopping, beauty, retail, celebrity style, and the broader digital fashion landscape.
Strong understanding of affiliate commerce, SEO, social media, and audience-development principles.
Demonstrated ability to identify products, trends, and cultural moments that audiences want to shop, save, and share.
Comfortable using data and performance metrics to evaluate content and inform editorial decisions.
Strong product-curation skills and an ability to balance commercial considerations with thoughtful editorial judgment.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working with editors, freelancers, commerce teams, and cross-functional partners.
Familiarity with affiliate platforms, content management systems, social publishing tools, and analytics platforms is a plus.
Passion for Harper’s BAZAAR and a strong understanding of its fashion authority, audience, and distinctive point of view.
