About the job
Design Engineer | Hydraulics & Custom Machinery
Tired of being stuck on the same project for months?
What if every week brought a new engineering challenge, a new customer problem to solve, and the opportunity to see your designs come to life quickly?
Our client is seeking a Design Engineer with hydraulic system experience to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys blending technical expertise with customer collaboration and thrives in a fast-paced environment where ideas turn into solutions.
You'll work directly with industrial customers, including press manufacturers and OEMs, designing custom hydraulic and mechanical systems that solve real-world production challenges.
What You'll Do:
Design custom hydraulic power units, circuits, and industrial machinery.
Develop engineering drawings, system layouts, and bills of material.
Create quotations and technical proposals for customer projects.
Collaborate closely with sales, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.
Design and improve custom machines, automation equipment, and fluid power systems.
Support projects from concept through completion.
Troubleshoot design challenges and develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing speed, accuracy, and customer expectations.
What We're Looking For:
Experience designing hydraulic systems and fluid power solutions.
Mechanical design experience within industrial equipment or custom machinery.
Proficiency with CAD software and engineering documentation.
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
Curious, solutions-oriented thinker who welcomes feedback and new ideas.
Why Engineers Love This Role:
Most projects are completed within days, not months.
Opportunity to work on a wide variety of applications and industries.
Direct interaction with customers and decision-makers.
Collaborative environment where your ideas matter.
Real ownership and visibility from concept to finished solution.
Continuous learning through diverse engineering challenges.
The Ideal Candidate:
You enjoy solving problems that don't have an "off-the-shelf" answer. You can move comfortably between engineering design, customer conversations, project quoting, and collaboration with teammates. You're the kind of engineer who gets excited by a blank sheet of paper and a tough customer challenge.
Ready to Apply?
Join a team where your engineering expertise directly impacts customers, projects move fast, and no two days are the same. If you're passionate about hydraulics, custom machine design, fluid power, and creating innovative solutions for industrial customers, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today!
